Little Critter Day Camp

Boone and Crockett Club’s Anderson Conservation Education Program on the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch west of Dupuyer Montana at the Foot of the Rocky Mountain Front Range

Enjoy time outdoors while learning about the wildlife, fishing, and hiking
Offering 3 one-day camps 4 to 9 year olds.
Equipment and supplies are covered. Please bring a sack lunch.

When: August 19th - 21st, 2013
Who: Youth ages 4 -9 years
Camp Limit: 12 campers

Cost: $25/day/camper

OUTDOOR SKILLS CAMP

Boone and Crockett Club’s Anderson Conservation Education Program on the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch west of Dupuyer Montana at the Foot of the Rocky Mountain Front Range

Do you want to learn basic outdoor skills, such as knot tying, fly tying, shooting sports, campfire building, journaling and tracking skills? Campers will use digital cameras, GPS units, maps and compass to gather and analyze their experiences on the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch and adjacent public lands.

Primary goals of this camp are:

1) To develop an understanding, awareness and appreciation for the great outdoors of Montana's Rocky Mountain Front and the importance of conservation and natural resources and;  

2) To provide an opportunity for youth to gain a variety of outdoors skills on private and public lands.

When: August 15th - 19th, or 20th - 24th, 2013
Who: Youth ages 11 -13 years
Camp Limit: 16 campers

Cost: $450 (includes the $100 deposit to reserve spot in camp; balance is due no later than first day of camp)
Scholarships are available.
  • Camp Registration and Check-in: 4p.m., August 5th
  • Camp Closing Ceremony: 4:00 p.m., August 10th
  • Departure: 5:00 p.m., August 10th

Wildlife Conservation Skills Camp

Learn more advanced outdoor skills – shooting sports, camping, fishing, wilderness survival, wildlife management techniques.
All equipment, supplies, meals and lodging are covered in the camp fee

When: August 3rd - 7th or 12 - 16th, 2013
Who: Youth ages 14 -16 years
Camp Limit: 16 campers

Cost: Cost: $350 (includes the $100 deposit to reserve spot in camp; balance is due no later than first day of camp)

WOMEN'S HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE
THEODORE ROOSEVELT MEMORIAL RANCH

The Fifth Annual Women’s Hunter Education Course is set for August 24 & 25, 2012; 10 miles west on the Boone and Crockett Club's Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch at the Elmer E. Rasmuson Wildlife Conservation Center. Course begins Friday evening and concludes Saturday late afternoon.

This course is organized and taught by Montana Hunter Education Instructors and is cosponsored with Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks.

Course includes alunch for participants and instructors. Overnight lodging, dinner and breakfast is $35. All course equipment and Montana Hunter Education manual is provided. Participants are required to read the entire Hunter Education manual and take each chapter quiz prior to taking the course.
 
Topics for the course include:

  • Wildlife Conservation and Hunting Ethics
  • Hunting Laws and Regulations
  • Firearms and Firearms Instruction
  • Preparing for a Hunt
  • Target Shoot with a shotgun and rifle
  • Identify Montana Wildlife

Participants take the hunter education test at the end of the course to receive certification. The test for certification as a Hunter in Montana and test review is included at the closing of the day.

When: August 23rd & 24th, 2013
Who: Women 18 years and older
Course Limit: 20 women

Course Cost: Free
(all course materials, equipment and lunch Saturday)

Lodging/Meals Cost: $35
(Lodging $9.50; Dinner & Breakfast $25.50)

  • Departure: 5:00 p.m., August 25th
